The first day of second grade in Room 7 was a success. Today was all about building our class community. We all made new friends and learned about one another. Bright smiles to start a bright year!

Loving Parents
The First Day
I gave
you a little wink and smile
As you
entered my room today.
For I know
how hard it is to leave
And know
your child must stay.
you’ve
been with them for many years now
And have
been a loving guide,
But now,
alas, the time has come
To leave
them at my side.
Just know
that as you drive away
And tears
down your cheek may flow
I’ll love
them as I would my own
And help
them learn and grow.
So please
put your mind at ease
And cry
those tears no more
For I
will love them and take them in
When you
leave them at my door.

About Me:
I graduated from Hillsborough High School and went on to study at Rutgers University. I have studied nutritional sciences along with education. I taught second grade at HES last year and enjoyed every minute of it! I love all things that promote learning and healthy living! In my free time I love to cook healthy recipes, run and exercise, and of course read a good book!

Welcome to Miss Finnegan's Class Blog! This year we will be doing so many new and exciting things. We will explore different genres in literacy. We will be reading and writing fairy tales, biographies, poems and much more! We will doing many things in mathematics, from perfecting our addition skills to introducing multiplication. I can not wait to experiment with butterflies and dinosaurs in science! Social studies will be an amazing way to read and write while connecting to the world around us. That is a small summary of all we will cover this year in class. I can't wait for our journey to begin!
